The Taxateca's Garden is a small private botanical garden which contains an interesting plant collection of hundreds of species. It was founded on May 17th of 2013 and has an extension of 2.000 square meters.

Malephora crocea

 

Category: Succulent herb. Temperature: Frost tender (until -3ºc). Water: Drought resistant. Details: Creeping plant with nice flowers.  Interchange availability: Yes, cuttings.


Mammillaria bocasana

 

Details: A Mexican cactus that is completely covered in white hairs and has sharp, hook-like spines that latch onto anything that touches it. It is relatively resistant to cold, withstanding short frosts of up to almost -10ºC.


Mammillaria bombycina

 

Details: A Mexican cactus that is covered by hook-like spines that latch onto anything that touches it. It flowers on spring and is frost tender.


Mammillaria elongata

 

Category: Succulent. Temperature: Frost tender (until -3ºc). Water: Drought resistant. Details: Small cactus.  Interchange availability: Yes, cuttings.


Mammillaria gracilis

 

Details: Small clustered cactus native from Mexico, drought resistant, but frost tender (until -4ºC). It produce small yelowish flowers in the warm and humid season.


Mammillaria hahniana

 

Details: Cactus native to Mexico with latex inside, surface covered with hairs, and bright pink flowers that form rings on the stem. It grows in areas with winter drought and can resist up to -10ºC for short periods of time.


Mammillaria linaresensis

 

Details: A solitary small cactus endemic to a small area of northeastern Mexico. It withstands drought very well and temperatures of up to around -10°C for a few hours.

Details: A solitary small cactus endemic to northeastern Mexico. It withstands drought very well and temperatures of up to around -10°C for a few hours.


Melaleuca pustulata

 

Details: It is an endemic Tasmanian shrub, growing in relatively dry soils. It blooms massively in spring and supports up to -10ºC.


Mimosa polycarpa

 

Category: Shrub. Temperature: Frost tender. Water: Regularly. Details: Leafs move when are touched.  Interchange availability: Yes, seeds.

Mimusops zeyheri

 

Details: It is a tree from southern Africa that resists periods of drought, but not temperatures below zero degrees. It is slow growing and its fruits are edible.


Monstera deliciosa

 

Category: Climbing. Temperature: Frost tender (until -4ºc). Water: Regularly. Details: Big and nice leafs.  Interchange availability: Yes, cuttings.


 

Musa x paradisiaca

 

Category: Small tree. Temperature: Frost tender, rhizome frost resistant. Water: Regularly to abundant. Details: Big and nice leafs, fruits edible (bananas).  Interchange availability: Yes, cuttings.


Myrtillocactus geometrizans

 

Category: Succulent shrub. Temperature: Frost tender (until -5ºc). Water: Drought resistant. Details: Branches with nice colour.
