The Taxateca's Garden is a small private botanical garden which contains an interesting plant collection of hundreds of species. It was founded on May 17th of 2013 and has an extension of 2.000 square meters.

Lampranthus multiradiatus

 

Details: It is a South African succulent plant that in early spring is covered with flowers of a bright fuchsia color. Its growth is mainly focused on the coldest season, but it grows throughout the year if it has water. It is resistant to drought and withstands temperatures down to -7ºC.


Lantana camara

 

Details: It is a shrub from tropical America, cultivated in warm regions around the world for its beautiful and abundant flowers. It is quite drought-resistant and can tolerate temperatures as low as -5°C. It is a potent invasive plant in tropical and subtropical regions.


Lapidaria margaretae

 

Details: Strange plant that imitates rocks, frost tender until -4º, watering scarce and only in the warm period.


Lemna gibba

 

Details: A small plant reduced to one to three floating leaves with a small root. It grows very quickly and densely covers the water surface. It produces tiny, barely visible flowers. It needs to be in water to live and can withstand frost.


Leucojum vernum

 

Details: Bulbous plant that grows in mid-winter and blooms before spring arrives. It is adapted to grow in European humid deciduous forests during the leafless months. In warm times it is reduced to an underground bulb. It resists strong frosts.

 


Lewisia cotyledon

 

Category: Herbaceous. Temperature: Frost resistant. Water: Not allow to dry. Details: Species from the rare family Montiaceae.


Leonotis nepetifolia

 

Category: Annual herb. Temperature: Frost tender. Water: Regularly. Details: Nice and rare flowers. 


Leucanthemum maximum

 

Category: Herb. Temperature: Frost resistant. Water: Abundant. Details: Nice and massive flowers.


Leuchtenbergia principis

 

Details: A bizarre cactus with an appearance that remembers more another family such as Agave or Aloe. It has a extremely developed areoles that have a leaf function. In summer produces big yellow flowers at the tip of these false leaves. It is drought resistant and frost resistant until -8ºC for short periods of time. Habits in northern Mexico, in areas with dry season in winter and rainier summers.


Lilium candidum

 

Details: It is a bulbous plant from the eastern Mediterranean, which forms a rosette of leaves in winter, from which a stem appears in spring that ends in flowers. In summer it dries up and is reduced to a bulb that forms leaves again in autumn. The flowers are large and emit a very pleasant smell, but they are short-lived. It resists some drought and temperatures of about -10 degrees.

Details: is a curious South African succulent plant with only a pair of leaves, which have a rock-like coloration that helps it camouflage itself from predators. It only grows once a year, at the beginning of the warm and humid season, and flowers at the beginning of the colder season, then goes dormant to survive the drought.

Lophophora williamsii
