Characteristics of Euryarchaeota:

The Euryarchaeota is the main kingdom of the Archaea domain. It contains species that span all the biochemical diversity of Archaea, being able to obtain energy from sunlight, organic compounds, or mineral compounds, as well as respiring oxygen or other compounds or producing fermentations. The group has been found in places as varied as anoxic sludge, deep sea waters, inside animals, extremely acidic waters, volcanic geysers above the boiling point, or hypersaline lakes. Their cells are typically more or less rounded, but some species have filamentous, square, spherical, branched, or other morphology cells. Given this great variability, the group is defined by the characteristics of its DNA.
